Manulife Investment Management (Manulife IM), a global asset management firm serving over 17 million investors, has appointed Anne Valentine Andrews as its new Global Head of Private Markets, effective March 4.
Bringing over 25 years of experience in asset management and alternative investments, Ms. Valentine Andrews will oversee all investment teams and steer the overall strategy, growth, and business development of Manulife IM’s private markets division. She will collaborate closely with the firm’s global product group and business leaders to drive innovation in private market products across Institutional, Retail, and Retirement channels. Ms. Valentine Andrews, based in New York, will report directly to Paul Lorentz, President and CEO of Manulife IM.

Before joining Manulife IM, Ms. Valentine Andrews held a nine-year tenure at BlackRock, where she served as Managing Director and Global Head of Infrastructure and Real Estate. Her leadership led BlackRock to become one of the top 10 infrastructure managers and top 50 real estate managers by assets under management (AUM). During her time at BlackRock, she played key roles on various committees, including the Global Operating Committee, Human Capital Committee, and the Equity Private Markets Executive Committee. Prior to her role at BlackRock, she served as Co-Head and Chief Operating Officer for the Morgan Stanley Infrastructure platform and held positions at Macquarie Bank in Melbourne and New York. Ms. Valentine Andrews is not only recognized for her business acumen but also for her advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, as well as her efforts to promote women in the financial services industry.
